Zoleka Mandela is the proud mother of a baby girl after giving birth to her daughter Zingce Mandela a day before her 42nd birthday.

Author and activist Zoleka Mandela welcomed her sixth child on Friday 8 April, a day before her 42nd birthday.

ZOLEKA WELCOMES BABY ZINGCE
Zoleka, who is the grandchild of Nelson Mandela and Winnie Madikizela Mandela, proudly announced the arrival of her daughter, Zingce Mandela, on Instagram.
Sharing a picture of her hospital card, she thanked her daughter for choosing her.
“08.04.2022 Dear Diary, this morning (11:10) I gave birth to my daughter, Zingce Zobuhle Mandela … A day before my 42nd birthday!!! To my daughter … We did it, baby … Just me and you, thank you for choosing me as your MOM!!!”
ZOLEKA DOES NOT WANT TO BE PITIED
Zoleka announced her pregnancy last year, much to the shock of many social media users who had a lot to say about her being a single mother of six.
However, Zoleka did not want pity from anyone as she took to her Instagram to tell netizens to respect her.
“Don’t pity me because I’m a single mom. Respect me for having the courage to do it alone, the strength to never give up, and the love to put my own child’s needs before my own,” she had written.
Apart from her newborn baby, the proud mama has three other children – two daughters and a son
Tragically, Zoleka lost her eldest daughter Zenani who died in a car accident in 2010 at the age of 13 years old. A year later she lost another child, her infant son, Zenawe, who was born three months prematurely.
BIRTHDAY VIBES
Zoleka also celebrated her 42nd birthday at the hospital with her little one.
Heading to Instagram, she thanked her followers for the birthday wishes and also give an update on her newborn baby
“09.04.2022 – OMG!!! You guys, thank you all for the birthday messages, I can’t believe I’m 42yrs old today!!! You’ve all overwhelmed me with messages on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook … you’ve also (all) reminded me yet again of how abundantly BLESSED I am so THANK YOU!!! Zingce and I are still in hospital – the nurse keeps saying she eats a lot and that she’s such an incredibly active baby … OMG!!! I’m so exhausted but mostly HAPPY and excited about having given birth to my 6th child!!! Happy Saturday, beloved hearts!!!”
