On Tuesday, 7 February, a group of hijackers opened fire at a security guard after attempting to rob a female motorist on London Road in Linbro Park, north of Johannesburg and near Alexandra.

According to EWN, the security guard returned fire, injuring the men, who were transported to Tembisa Hospital with gunshot wounds.
