Yoh! Babes Wodumo dragged for crop top at brother-in-law’s funeral

It seems local celebrities are not very well aware of what their fellow South Africans find acceptable in terms of funeral attire. Gqom musician Babes Wodumo has found herself in the firing line after sharing snaps of the outfit she wore to her brother-in-law’s funeral – fans were just not impressed.

Babes Wodumo catches smoke for her funeral outfit

South African musician Babes Wodumo is the latest local celebrity to get dragged for her choice in funeral attire. The gqom songstress’s husband Mampintsha headed to Instagram on 19 August this year to share a snap of himself and Babes in the short leather skirt and black crop top.

While it was all fun and games for Babes and Mampintsha who joked about Babes looking like a witch because of her outfit choice, people in the comment section were not impressed. A lot of them criticised her for not respecting Zulu culture by attending the funeral in a short skirt and crop top.

Many locals were soon questioning why she had decided to wear a short skirt and crop top to a family member’s funeral. Others naturally also laughed at the fact that Babes was being compared to a witch. The comments seemingly got too much for her husband Mampintsha who abruptly closed the comment section of the post.

Meanwhile another celeb in trouble for her short skirt

Another South African celebrity Ntando Duma was recently dragged for her “short skirt” at fellow actor Shona Ferguson’s funeral. Ntando found herself trending after she had to shoot down a tweep who questioned the length of her skirt at the funeral.

While many thought the skirt was just fine, others accused the celeb of being disrespectful and chasing attention at a funeral.
