CAREER
Nadia Nakai is reportedly the first female to win the Hip Hop TV show’s mixtape101 competition. Her first big single, Like Me, was reportedly released in 2015. She has since collaborated with local and international musicians like South African musician Kwesta and Nigerian artists Ice Prince.
She was reportedly first signed to Family Tree Records (Cassper Nyovest’s record label), and then got signed to Def Jam Recordings.
According to IOL, in November of 2021, she took to her Instagram to announce that she was starting her own record label called Bragga Records.
“I am not with The Tree anymore. I am working on my own record label,” Nadia Nakai was quoted as saying.
The stunning rapper is popularly known for the hits: Naaa Meaan, Imma Boss, and Money Back, to name a few.
Aside from her musical career, she is also a reality TV star starring on the Netflix show called Young, Famous, and African, Elle reported. Nadia Nakai stars alongside African media personalities such as Khanyi Mbau, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, Andile Ncube, Zari Hassan, Diamond Platnumz, Quinton Masina (popularly known as Naked DJ), Kayleigh Schwark, and Swanky Jerry.
NADIA NAKAI’S RELATIONSHIPS
Before dating AKA, Nadia Nakai was linked to US rapper Vic Mensa but reportedly announced their split in August 2021. She was said to have also dated Cassper Nyovest but bashed those rumours in an interview on Kaya FM with Sammy T, News 24 reported.
According IOL, Nadia Nakai and AKA reportedly made their relationship official in 2021 after rumours that they were secretly dating. They have since shown their fans just how much they meant to one another by getting lion tattoos. Whilst AKA got one of a lion’s head on his arm, his rapper girlfriend got a lioness’ head tattooed on the same part of her arm.
