This really does have all the makings of an extremely messy breakup. Monique Muller, the former partner of TV personality Katlego Maboe, took to Instagram this week to accuse a lawyer of ‘making racist threats’ against her.

The legal representative, battling on Maboe’s side of the court drama, allegedly sent messages to Muller that were perceived to be downright offensive, with an ominous undertone. The text shared online read:

“I’m only starting now with you. You should never underestimate a white female lawyer…”

Monique Muller hits back

As one would expect, Muller didn’t just let this slide. In a separate Instagram story, she slammed the supposed threats as a ‘pathetic excuse to harass [her] family’, as the situation continued to spiral out of control.

“This is a pathetic excuse for harassing my family. We have a child together, one family member is a contact person. The proof is with the LPC.”

How Katlego Maboe went from hero to zero

Last October, Maboe and Muller made national headlines when a video of a confrontation between the pair went viral. Stood in his dressing gown, the broadcaster was busted for cheating on his girlfriend during a work trip. Maboe was also alleged to have passed on an STD, forcing SABC to remove him from the airwaves.

Of course, Katlego Maboe’s fall from grace was further compounded this weekend. The TV host and former OUTsurance star had been arrested for a ‘contempt of court’ offence at the start of the month, only making headlines recently. The closest we’ve come to a response is this statement from Katlego Maboe’s PR official, Lerato Maleswena

“The matter is being heard in the magistrate’s court and is sub judice. No comments can be made and any party making comments to the media or publishing any allegations can be held in contempt of court.”
