VUSI THANDA ASKS SOUTH AFRICANS FOR DONATIONS

Vusi Thanda played the role of Tshawe in Emzini Wezinsizwa between 1993 and 2005. In 2018, he landed a role on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen alongside Connie Ferguson, Rami Chuene, Themba Ndaba and many more.

Taking to Facebook on 22 September, Nozuko MaRhadebe Habe shared a post about Vusi Themba asking people to donate as little as R10 to him.

“Life is not easy for him, at times you need to go to the clinic for treatment. I will ask him to make a video with his account number to avoid a scam.”

The Facebook user followed the post with a video of Thanda sharing his banking information for South Africans to donate to him.

TWEEPS LEFT HEARTBROKEN BY VETERAN ACTOR

The video of Vusi Thanda asking for donations found its way to tweeps who were heartbroken to see that another local entertainer was asking for donations.

“Imagine a whole entire Vusi Thanda asking for donations. This is a legend he shouldn’t be living like this,” wrote one tweep.

“It’s so sad people who are actually talented are no longer getting gigs in the entertainment industry. All these gigs go to talentless influencers who think they’re actors,” wrote another tweep.

“What’s happening to Vusi Thanda is heartbreaking. I’m sure there are many others in the same position but haven’t spoken [out].”

VUSI THANDA ON HIS FEAR OF DEATH

In a 2019 interview on Kaya FM, Vusi Thanda expressed that he was scared of dying. Since 2015, four of his Emzini Wezinsizwa co-stars have passed away.

“Every time someone from Emzini Wezinsizwa dies, I’m scared to even have flu. I don’t even want a painful knee. It’s very scary. You think who is next now? I’m saying this with respect because it’s not nice when people die.”
