Tiwa Savage has opened up about being blackmailed over a ‘sex tape’ from a crazed fan
The Nigerian pop singer got candid about how a stranger attempted to extort her by threatening to make a video of her and her secret boyfriend public should you decide not to pay.
‘YOU ARE NOT MAKING MONEY OFF ME’
In an interview with New York radio Power 105.1, Tiwa Savage – who is currently promoting her latest album offering Water & Garri – revealed the tape was footage between her unidentified boyfriend “doing something that is natural”.
She said: “I am not going to call it a sex tape but it’s a tape between me and the person I am dating right now”.
Without going into detail of what is in the video, Tiwa claims her partner “accidentally” uploaded it onto Snapchat, before swiftly deleting it.
But the damage was already done- one fan had downloaded the clip to use against the singer.
The mom of one also revealed that she would not be indulging the fan’s demands.
She added: “I am that crazy I could put it out myself – you are not making any money off me.”

But beside Tiwa Savage being “unbothered” by her obsessed fan, she is concerned how the video may potentially affect her 7-year-old son Jamil, she shares with ex-husband Tunji “Teebillz” Balogun.
“I am going to talk to him and for me it is even later on when he’s about 15 and someone is trying to be rude to him… I just have to brace him up,” she said.
She also expressed her fears that the clip may affect her career. “I don’t want this to overshadow what I have going on,” she added.
