Thuso and Charlize collaborate to assist the youth of South Africa

Charlize Theron’s efforts to assist young people in Southern Africa through her outreach project were praised by Thuso Mbedu.

At Charlize Theron’s Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) anniversary over the weekend in West Hollywood, the stars of The Women King and The Old Guard were spotted together.

Charlize Theron and Thuso Mbedu, some of the top exports from South Africa, are both contributing to the development of Southern Africa.

For Charlize Theron’s Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) anniversary, the honourees were spotted gathered over the weekend in West Hollywood.

Thuso said it was an honour to be present for Charlize’s event and see the work she has been doing for young people for the past 15 years.

Thuso tells the youth of South Africa, ‘You matter

As they honoured the next generation of leaders in Southern Africa, Thuso and Charlize grabbed a selfie together.

The Woman King actor thanked Charlize on Instagram saying that she had the honour of commemorating 15 years of service with @ctaop.

She emphasised that, despite what their circumstances might lead the youth to assume, South Africa’s youth matter. She said they should be encouraged because there are people who are actively fighting for them because she believes in the power that resides in South African youth.

It was not only motivating to see the enormous transformation @charlizeafrica and the crew have made, but it also gave me so much optimism. There is a lot of optimism for the future of those young leaders who have had an active impact.

Charlize can be heard expressing her “awe” of the young leaders’ development in a promotional video for the outreach project’s activities, noting they have contributed to young people in Africa having healthier lives as well as to long-lasting and formative change.

The Charlize Theron Foundation has been around for 15 years, and one of its goals is to work with community organisations to improve the health, education, and safety of young people in Southern Africa so that everyone can have a more equitable future.
