Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas, recently spoke to Good Morning Britain in light of his daughter’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Thomas Markle claps back

This comes after Meghan claimed that he “betrayed” her in the build-up to her royal wedding back in 2018. She went on to refer to a 2018 incident, prior to her wedding to Prince Harry, where her father was accused of staging his own paparazzi pictures.

“I said [to him], so I just need you to tell me….And if you tell me the truth, we can help. And he wasn’t able to do that. And that for me has really resonated, especially now as a mother…I look at Archie. I think about this child and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child.”

Now, according to All4Women, Thomas – a retired Hollywood lighting director – decided to clap back at Meghan’s version of events. He recounted his last conversation with Meghan and Harry, of which he says took place in a hospital after his heart attack.

He told GMB hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid; “I had to tell them I couldn’t come to the wedding….Harry said to me at that point; ‘If you had listened to me, this wouldn’t have happened to you’. Me lying in a hospital bed after having a procedure and getting a stent put here and here [points to his chest] thought that that was kind of snotty and hung up.”

He added that he was “left out to dry”, claiming similarly to Meghan and Harry, his family were also “attacked by the press”, and offered “no protection”.

He then said that Meghan also hurt him.

“I’ve apologised over what happened at least a hundred times…I feel like she let me down as well…I was in the hospital bed the last time we talked, and I never heard from her again.”

Asked why he continued to talk to the press, Thomas responded; “Because they’re not talking to me”.

‘She ghosted all of her family’

The 76-year-old also spoke on Meghan’s claims that she felt ‘suicidal’ amongst all the media scrutiny.

“Had I known she was having psychological problems, I would have been there for her. The biggest problem is she’s pretty much ghosted all of her family, so she really had no one to reach out to…she would have had us, if she kept us.”

What’s more, Thomas said that the royal family and the British are not racist after Meghan and Harry said that it is one of the main reasons they stepped down as senior members of the family.

“This whole thing about colour and how dark the baby is, is bull****”, he added.
