South African reality TV star Thobile “MaKhumalo” Mseleku has been accused of rocking fake designer clothes. Local social media users are currently debating about whether or not she owns authentic luxury brands after she shared a snap of herself with a Louis Vuitton purse that costs a whopping R86 000.

Many have thoroughly scrutinised the bag while trying to decipher whether it is real or not. Unsurprisingly, Thobile isn’t the first local celeb accused of rocking fake designer.

Thobile MaKhumalo’s designer bags questioned

Most South African celebrities love the flashy life and showing off their wealth.

Over the years, celebrities like Somizi, MaMkhize and Boity Thulo have showcased their vast collection of designer clothes and this has definitely left locals with interesting opinions.

While many have slammed the stars for nit supporting local, others have wondered whether or not their clothes are even authentic.

And now former Real Housewives of Durban star Thobile Mseleku’s designer wear is also being questioned.

Taking to Twitter, one app user sparked a big debate after insinuating that Thobile shops from the fake designer market for counterfeit goods.

“I know that LV bag ibisiya ku Thobile Mseleku,” the tweet responded to a post about fake designer clothes.

Mzansi is divided

The post left people discussing the appearance of Thobile’s handbag. While some argued that it looks real, others called it a “terrible fake”.

Here are some of their comments:

“That bag was definitely not manufactured by Louis,” one person said while another added:

“She’s fighting, are she can’t afford a 56k bag. But even the belt doesn’t look like the original.”
