South African Twitter users were left wondering if they read correctly after a tweet shared on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s page explained that the government is celebrating the fact that social grants have gone from 2.5 million people in 1999 to 18 million people in 2023. Many people slammed the president for failing to realise that more people dependent on social grants is not something to be proud of. In response to the backlash and outrage, The Kiffness — a content creator and musician famous for his parody videos and sharing his political opinions — shared a hilarious clip of Bantu Holomisa failing dismally to repeat the old adage about teaching a man to fish.

The clip left South Africans laughing out loud as they discussed the current government and all its shortcomings.

The Kiffness sprinkles a bit of laughter on a frustrating tweet

The Kiffness — real name David Scott — however, tried to “enlighten” the president with a hilarious video of Bantu Holomisa failing to get the age-old adage of teaching a man to fish correctly.

While the real saying goes, ‘give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him forever.”

All Holomisa could manage was, “ ay; you teach him to have, to fish, you give him… you give him… eh, eh no no no no no…”
