Earlier this year, Cassper Nyovest excitedly revealed that he was venturing into TV. Not long thereafter he announced that he will be taking over AKA’s The Braai Show. After a little back and forth the show aired but Cassper was unable to top AKA’s ratings and is currently still struggling.

He has since shared his thoughts on the matter.

A few months ago Casper Nyovest replaced his rival AKA as the new host on SABC 1 show, The Braai Show. The news was met with mixed reactions from South Africans who wondered whether Cass was a good choice.

Cassper’s first episode aired and raked in 2.2 million viewers which was below AKA’s first episode which was 2.8 million. Since then a number of episodes have aired but Cassper is still struggling to pass his initial 2.2 million views.

Taking to Twitter, entertainment blogger Phil Mphela pointed this out to fans who swiftly shared their thoughts.

Wanting Cassper’s thoughts on the matter, one fan, @PlanetFather2 asked:

“Cass. Phil says ratings are plummeting. How do you feel about this unprovoked attack on you? And do you feel load shedding has played a part in low ratings if that is factual?”

Still securing the bag

Cassper quickly responded that he was still making a ton of money as the show’s host. He also added that his client was “happy” and that there may even be a rerun.

“I’m not even gonna explain anything my dawg. You always have the answers in your tweet but the fact is, I made Big Bank and my client is very happy with my service.

“Everywhere I go I meet fans who watch it religiously and there are talks of a rerun,” said Cassper according to a Zalebs article.

The musician also went on to deny buying promo for The Braai Show to trend while adding that this December was going to be “lit” for him.
