It’s not the first time a fan has done something extreme to prove their love for a celebrity and it probably won’t be the last. But this hasn’t stopped South Africans from trolling one superfan who tattooed DJ Tira’s face on his chest. He has since spoken out about the drastic decision.

A DJ Tira fan goes to the extremes to prove his love

Not many people have the guts to get a tattoo – nevermind one of another man’s face, even if it is a celebrity. One man however decided to prove just how much he looks up to DJ Tira by getting a tattoo of the KwaZulu-Natal musician’s face on his chest.

Nhlonipho Mdletshe shared a snap of the “artwork” online and was soon roasted beyond recognition. Many locals wondered out loud why he would go so far as to permanently marking his body with Tira’s face. Some even questioned his sanity.

Mdletshe has since defended his mental health in a Daily Sun article:

“I’m not mad. Those backlashing me don’t know why I did this. Tira is my inspiration. He has helped a lot of artists with their careers. I’m talking about Joocy, Dladla Mshunqisi, Tipcee and many more who are now well-known.”

The 27-year-old further went on to say that Tira does not get the praise he deserves from South Africans which is why he decided to honour the star with the tattoo. He then gushes over how much Tira has helped other people.

“When I look at it, I get inspired. It encourages me to help the poor.”

Meanwhile, Mzansi still can’t believe it
