Elton, who? Zeenat Simjee spotted enjoying Springboks tour [video]

Zeenat Simjee – the Springboks dietician at the centre of allegations of an affair with player Elton Jantjies – has seemingly put the drama behind her as she enjoys the team’s last week in Europe.

And it seems SA Rugby bosses have done the same, despite both Elton and his wife Iva Ristic lamenting the “unfairness” of the situation.

Whilst Elton was snubbed from the Springboks team, allegedly in part over his behaviour, Zeenat Simjee returned to work and was even drafted in their end-of-year tour.

ARE THE SPRINGBOKS BUYING ‘MISTAKEN IDENTITY’ CLAIMS?

In September, Elton Jantjies and Zeenat Simjee made headlines after an eyewitness spotted them at a guesthouse in Mbombela a month earlier.

According to Rapport, the duo were accused of having a romantic relationship after being spotted amid the Springboks’ Rugby Championship match against the All Blacks in Mbombela.

At the time of the report, the Springboks were in Argentina, and both Elton and Zeenat were sent home.

Later that month, Zeenat released a statement vehemently denying the allegations. In it, she stated that she was at a family engagement during the time of the alleged hotel tryst. She later returned to work and is now with the Springboks team amid their end-of-year European tour.

Speaking to Netwerk24 last week, Zeenat Simjee’s lawyer Frikkie Erasmus claimed that the woman seen with Elton was not his client. He added that the woman closely resembled the dietician and was mistaken for her.

He told the publication: “It was a case of mistaken identity. She was not there”.

UNFAIR TREATMENT, CLAIM IVA AND ELTON JANTJIES

Meanwhile, Elton Jantjies and his wife Iva have both expressed their frustration that Zeenat Simjee remains in the Springboks camp whilst the former did not make the cut for the European tour.

Speaking to Netwerk24, Iva also claimed that she had sent “proof” of the alleged affair to Springboks management. However “no action” had been taken against Zeenat Simjee.

She said: “I don’t know why I still have to fight over this. It’s so cruel and inconsiderate to any Springboks wife. It must not even be a consideration….she must go! It’s not as if there aren’t any other dieticians in South Africa”.

Speaking to sister publication News24, Elton Jantjies also claimed he was “amazed” that Zeenat had returned to work, “pretending like nothing happened”.

ZEENAT SIMJEE SPOTTED ENJOYING EUROPEAN TOUR

Meanwhile, Zeenat Simjee has seemingly been having the time of her life as part of the Springboks European tour.

Zeenat’s own Instagram account has been set to private mode. She’s also deactivated her Facebook account. But pics and clips of the brunette can be seen on the social media accounts of the other women in the Springboks camp.

The Boks have had stop-overs in France, Italy, and Ireland. Their final test match will be against England on Saturday 26 November.

Zeenat has been snapped sightseeing, indulging in local treats. She was also spotted singing the national anthem alongside the rest of the team in a clip ahead of the SA vs Italy test match.
