It’s been a challenging year for Springboks player Elton Jantjies, both professionally and privately. But while the most significant loss is undoubtedly the end of his marriage to wife Iva Ristic, following his allegations of an affair with team dietician Zeenat Simjee, his only consolation will be ending the year off as friends with his soon-to-be ex-wife.
Elton was rocked by a cheating scandal with Zeenat, which had ripple effects on his professional rugby career. It also saw his romantic relationship with his wife, Iva, officially ending.

ELTON JANTJIES AND IVA RISTIC TO ‘FORMALISE DIVORCE SOON’
Speaking exclusively to The South African, Iva Ristic confirmed that her divorce from Elton Jantjies would be finalised after the festive season.
Elton is currently in France, where he has started in new club, Agen, while Iva and their three children live in Turkey.
And despite their marriage breakdown playing out in the public eye, Iva shared that she and Elton were on “great terms” – as friends and co-parents.

Iva said: “Elton is doing really well. We are on great terms though we talk every day. I am still his biggest supporter, and he is mine.
“I am honestly proud of us for managing to keep the friendship going”.
She added: “Yes, [we are] going formalize our divorce very soon. It’s been a chaotic period for both of us moving countries, but after the holidays will definitely focus more on that.”

FORMER COUPLE TO SPEND CHRISTMAS APART
Meanwhile, Iva confirmed her and her sons’ plans to spend Christmas away from Elton Jantjies.
She added: “I am spending the holidays with my kids and family in Turkey this year. It’s been such a dream living here. I need to pinch myself sometimes to make sure it’s all real”.
