During their North American tour, Grammy-winning Soweto Gospel Choir made a quick turn in the UK for ‘Good Morning Britain’.

Grammy award-winning group Soweto Gospel Choir has jetted overseas to kick off their North American tour. The Sedilaka hitmakers also had the opportunity to perform on Good Morning Britain to give viewers a glimpse into what to expect at their upcoming performances.

SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR GOES ON TOUR! 

The Soweto Gospel Choir is one of South Africa’s most-loved music groups. Founded in 2002, the choir has achieved three Grammy Awards, an Oscar nomination, an American Gospel Music Award and several other awards.

The choir kicked off their 2022 North American tour on 7 October in Kohler, a village in Wisconsin, United States. They are set to travel to cities like North Carolina, Arizona and California.

“We are back at this again. The gates have been open for us to travel the world and share our love for music and dance yet again. Please check out our guide and ensure not to miss out. Stay blessed,” the choir wrote on Instagram. 

‘GOOD MORNING BRITAIN’

During their North American tour, the award-winning group made a quick turn to the United Kingdom to perform at the Newcastle Cathedral to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Dr Martin Luther King’s visit to the city. 

The Soweto Gospel Choir also performed on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday 18 October. Television presenter Richard Arnold said the performance was “unfettered”.

‘HOPE’

The choir released their new album, Hope, on 23 September. The 13-track album marks their first album in four years. As per 22 Sound Records, the album is a concept album which is centred around American Civil Rights anthems and struggle songs from South Africa’s anti-apartheid movement.
