South African amputee dancer danced his heart out on Britain’s Got Talent Finale

Sebokeng dancer Musa Motha moves Britain’s Got Talent judges to tears with his breath-taking performance.

Musa Motha, a young South African dancer, fulfilled his dream of being a dancer on one of the biggest stages in Britain. Musa danced his heart on the show’s finale on Sunday. Musa showcased his talent on the show’s 16th series finals and made history on British television. The dancer managed to achieve what no other contestant had ever managed to achieve before. His audition performance stunted both the audience and the judges. 

His performance won all four judges’ hearts, and he received a golden buzzer. This ensured Musa a spot at the finals. Musa is a Sebokeng dancer who was diagnosed with cancer at a young age. He had one of his legs amputated after the diagnosis, the amputation crashed young Musa’s dream of being a soccer player. The young man who recently moved to London soon found comfort in music and dance.

According to Sunday Times, Musa’s mentor Greggory Maqoma told Sowetan that he was proud of Musa’s journey as a dancer. “There is no bigger stage than Britain’s Got Talent. As his mentor, I’ve always worked towards making sure he achieved his goals. It was critical for me in our planning to make sure it happens as we moved forward”. Said Gregory.

In the show’s finale, Musa wowed the audience once again with his breath-taking performance. A Norwegian comedic dancer Viggo Venn won the competition, with two runners-up, Lillian Clifton and Cillian O’Connor. Although Musa did not win, he made history and waved the South African flag high and proud.

Musa’s mother on her son’s journey

On Sunday evening, Musa’s mother, Ntokozo Matale, gathered family and friends to her house in Sebokeng to watch the show’s finale. Ntokozo shared her feelings about how much her son was an inspiration with TimesLIVE. She added that when Musa was sick, she was devastated. “God has so many ways of showing his love to us. Musa was a strong boy through his illness and losing his leg. He managed to get where he is because of his belief. He is brave, confident and loves people,” Ntokozo told TimesLIVE. According to Sunday Times, Musa’s mother praised her son and called him a go getter, and she also mentioned that she is proud of him.
