For the first time since the abuse allegations surfaced, singer Vusi Nova posted pictures with his “bestie” media personality Somizi Mhlongo on Sunday 29 August.

At the beginning of this month, audio clips between Mohale Motaung and the producers of Living the Dream with Somizi were leaked revealing the actor’s confessions about his estranged husband.

In the audio clips Mohale Motaung said Somizi Mhlongo physically and psychologically abused him, sabotaged his professional relationship with the Fergusons and made revelations about their sex life.

Although Somizi released a personal statement denying all the allegations made against him, Mohale Motaung also released a statement, saying that he had no intention of the interview being leaked. However, he affirmed that he was in fact abused by Somizi. The pair also confirmed their divorce.

In the aftermath of the abuse allegations, the media personality took “some time off” from his radio gig The Bridge on Metro FM and his role as a judge on Idols SA, where he has been replaced by a line-up of celebrities for the rest of the season.

While Somizi had been facing these personal and professional life challenges, his “bestie” Vusi Nova kept a low profile on social media.

The pair, who have been on several “bestiecations” together, posted each other quite often until the abuse allegations surfaced. Vusi Nova seemed to have unfollowed everyone, including Somizi on Twitter during this time as well.

However, the pair have reunited as they both posted pictures of each other after almost a month. Vusi Nova stated that they have an “unbreakable bond” and seemed to imply that people have attempted to interfere with that bond, through his post.

“Talk about a bond unbreakable… and yes, you can try,” wrote Vusi Nova on Instagram.

Following the abuse allegations Somizi Mhlongo got ahead of the hate he predicted he may receive without having to take a social media hiatus. Somizi did not slow his roll on his excessive Instagram posting while he was under public scrutiny, he just turned off the comments on his post and continued living his soft life.

However, Somizi seems to be feeling more confident now as he reopened the comments section of his posts after almost a month as the last time there were comments on his posts was on 31 July.

“Comments re opened. ….I love u my people…..thanks for yo loyalty…..let’s keep positivity trending,” wrote Somizi on Instagram.
