Media personality Somizi Mhlongo jokingly pretended to be a soccer player on his Namibian getaway and trolled MaMkhize’s team Royal AM via a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday 6 October.

SOMIZI JOKINGLY TROLLS ROYAL AM

The former Idols SA judge has been making appearances and doing meet and greet book signings in the Southern African country of Namibia. In the video, Somizi is quad biking in the dunes of the desert when the instructor asks him if he is a soccer player.

“Are you playing soccer, are you a soccer player?,” the instructor asks.

“Yes I am a soccer player. From South Africa. I play for ‘izinkomo’ Kaizer Chiefs,” he jokingly responds.

Somizi’s response shaded the team as “izinkomo” in street lingo means a team that is beaten easily. South African actress Pearl Thusi also used “izinkomo” in relation to soccer. In August she trolled Orlando Pirates player Thembinkosi Lorch by asking her 4.1 million Instagram followers to spot the difference between him and a “nkomo”.

The media personality then went on to say that he “chows” other soccer teams.

“I chowed it 4-1,” said Somizi about Royal AM.

Somizi Mhlongo mentioned Royal AM owner Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize in the caption of the video.

“The bike instructor was told I’m famous then he came to ask what do I do…..just listen….cc @kwa_mammkhize @kcfcofficial,” the video was captioned.

MAMKHIZE’S MONEY STUNT ON THE FIELD

The former Metro FM host’s hilarious video follows MaMkhize and her son Royal AM chairperson Andile Mpisane. The mother and son duo thought it was a good idea to hand out stacks of R200 notes to players after they won their KwaZulu-Natal derby against Maritzburg United on Saturday 2 October.

This money stunt caused an uproar between the players and on social media. However, Royal AM Chief Executive Sinky Mnisi said that the money was not for the players’ personal use but to donate to a charity.

This did not seem to suffice as the duo are set to face punishment for their act.
