Earlier this week, South African actress Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema was named as the high profile celebrity who visited convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester in jail. The news spread like a wildfire and resulted in the former Muvhango actress releasing a statement confirming that she had indeed visited Bester who she had known as TK Motsepe — a businessman who she’s worked with and owes her money.

The statement went viral as South Africans questioned the actress’ real motives and soon enough she deleted it. And now media personality Sizwe Dhlomo has mocked her for sharing it in the first place.

South African social media users are still picking their jaws up from the floor as more details from the shocking Thabo Bester case emerge.

Last week, Simphiwe Ngema was outed as the female celebrity who visited the “Facebook rapist” Thabo Bester while he was in prison.

According to Simz, she had worked for a few events under Bester’s 21 Century media company and went to see him in prison to enquire about payments she was waiting to receive.

The statement went viral as locals wondered how she could expect a prisoner to pay her. According to many of them, she just isn’t making sense.

The actress quickly deleted the statement but continues to endure mocking online.

Kaya FM host Sizwe Dhlomo is one of many who have laughed at the statement and wondered why she would post it before having a legal team review it.

While Sizwe did not specifically name Simz, many instantly knew who he is referring to.

“And to think l didn’t even believe that its true that she went to the prison… had she kept quiet l would have believed that its just another rumour,” one person wrote.
