SHILPA SHETTY: ‘WHAT WAS THE NEED?’

Media reports stated that Raj Kundra is accused of telling aspiring actresses they could break into the Bollywood industry through his company Viaan Industries. The company allegedly produced pornographic content for an adults-only mobile app called HotShots. The app has since been deleted from the Google play store Android phones and Apple’s App Store.

The women were then pressured into shooting sex scenes on the pretext of securing a spot in the Bollywood film industry. Mumbai Police announced Kundra’s arrest on Monday 19 July and on Wednesday, 28 July he was denied bail

Bollywood actress breaks down

According to a report from NDTV, Shilpa Shetty lashed out at her husband as she broke down after seeing him for the first time since his arrest.

“We have everything, what was the need to do all this?” asked Shetty to Kundra as he arrived home with the Mumbai Police for a search, according to sources.

The actress went on to vent her frustration on the impact this has had on her family’s reputation and her career.

“[The] family’s reputation was ruined, their endorsements in the industry were being cancelled and she had to give up many projects,” the source was quoted as saying to NDTV.

SHILPA QUIT AS DIRECTOR OF VIAAN INDUSTRIES

The police are currently looking into why Shetty quit as director of her husband’s company, Viaan Industries, last year.

The police have not yet found any evidence that Shetty was involved in the case. She has been questioned twice, once at a police station and the second time when the police searched the home where Shetty and Kundra live with their two children.

It has not yet been established whether the actress was aware of her husband’s alleged porn films operation. However, nine more people have been arrested in the case and four employees of Kundra have turned witnesses against him reportedly saying that they were asked to delete clips.
