Brian Mokoena, who is Arthur Mafokate’s former business partner, has revealed that he is not afraid of the kwaito legend — Daily Sun reports.

According to City Press, the National Lotteries (NLC) received a tip off in the form of an affidavit written by Mokoena at the Midrand Police Station in 2019 about Mafokate allegedly mismanaging Lottery funds meant for the underprivileged.

MAFOKATE NLC FRAUD ALLEGATIONS

On Friday 13 January, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) revealed that it had seized Mafokate’s R7.5 million property in Midrand.

The 999 Music boss’ guesthouse is one of five assets, including two luxury properties, a plot of land and a farm belonging to former NLC employees.

Mafokate’s La Villa Rosa guest house was allegedly purchased with money he received from the NLC, which he applied for through his nonprofit organisation (NPO) called the SA Arts and Development Association (Saada). He reportedly received R9.5 million in total between 2014 and 2015.

BRIAN MOKOENA DOES NOT NEED PROTECTION FROM FORMER PARTNER

Mokoena has revealed that people are worried about his safety.

“I have received quite a number of messages of support or requests for interviews from as far afield as the US.

“On the other hand, some people are concerned about my safety and that of my kids,” he said.

However, he does not feel it will be necessary to get any protection.

“Much as I appreciate these unsolicited offers, kindly note that I am not going to accept them. No bodyguards or hiding for me. My life carries on as normal for no one owns the power of death or life over me or my kids,” he said.

MOKOENA SAYS MAFOKATE IS ‘THE BIGGEST THIEF’

Concerns about Mokoena’s safety come after a leaked voice note where he was spilling the beans on Mafokate’s alleged illegal dealings.

“I know anything that needs to be known about Arthur and how he operates and how a number of people were destroyed by him. A couple of years back when I couldn’t take it anymore, when I decided to resign, I got a call from him, and he was crying regarding an issue involving CiCi.”

Mokoena, who says he was the COO at 999 Music and Roadshow Marketing — both owned by Mafokate, revealed that the Oyi Oyi hitmaker started trying to destroy his reputation when he left the companies.

“I stayed on and after two months I finally left 999 Music. Arthur kept on following me trying to destroy me. He even went to the extent of taking the telephone number of my ex-wife giving it to some of my enemies in this industry to try to concoct stories against me.”

In addition, he said that he is happy Mafokate is finally exposed, saying he is “the biggest thief within the arts sector in South Africa.”

“I don’t want to talk about the case of the gun, which he opened and some contracts he got in the Free State. I have been waiting for this day as I eventually went to the Hawks to lay a complaint.

“Today the labour to expose the biggest thief within the arts sector in South Africa did bear fruit. Mafokate, you have been chowing the nation’s money, but today it stops here,” he concluded.
