OTHER TWITTER CHANGES

Among some of the major changes made by Musk was firing half of the Twitter staff in his first week. A month later, he gave remaining employees an ultimatum to pledge working under his new hard-charging culture or join the fired staff. Many opted for the latter.

This gave birth to the hashing #RIPTwitter as many users felt the company would collapse son, but Musk was not bothered az he trolled the hashtag.

Before #RIPTwitter, Musk also announced that there would be a subscription fee for verification badges — which was also criticised.

“Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit. Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.”

He added that the price will be adjusted by “country proportionate to purchasing power parity.”

While the blue check mark still remains, the company introduced yellow check marks for accounts belongjng to a company or an organization — according to Distractify.

Another change that was made was getting rid of “Twitter for iPhone or Android” feature.

In December, the Space X founder asked his millions of followers to vote in a poll to decide whether or not he should continue as the Twitter CEO — 57.5% of people voted “yes”.
