Mandla Maphumulo popularly known as Mampintsha or Shimora from the Big Nuz group was a very rich man. His net worth by the end of 2022 when he passed away was already estimated to be $400 000 (R 6 745 800 00), Zalebs reported.

HOW MAMPINTSHA GREW HIS NET WORTH

The kwaito singer accumulated millions over two decades of his musical career and also from his reality show, Uthando Lodumo.

Mampintsha was born on 18 July 1982 and died on 24 December 2022, leaving behind his wife Bongekile ‘Babes Wodumo’ Simalene, his toddler Sponge, his sister and his very ill mother.

After breaking from Big Nuz, Mampintsha ventured into his own and started a music company, West Ink Records.

He was then able to control his career and also introduced a new artist to his record label, Babes Wodumo.

In 2022, TshisaLive reported Mampintsha was charging R100 000 per song feature and R20 000 per dance routine.

His main artist Babes Wodumo on the other hand was also thriving in her music and was making Mampintsha an even richer man at a very fast pace. The Wololo hitmaker was getting constantly booked to perform at gigs all around the country.

According to News24, by 2016, the gqom queen charged R100 000 per performance and was even performing at more than one gig per night.

Babes Wodumo was reportedly accused of occasionally dodging gigs and when she actually appeared to perform, she allegedly performed under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Over the years the couple publicly fell out over money. Babes Wodumo bashed her boyfriend at the time for hogging her money. Nontheless, the couple later married and shortly after, rumours of Mampintsha cheating and physically abusing his wife shocked their supportive fans.

WHERE IS MAMPINTSHA’S MONEY?

Following Mampintsha’s death almost a month ago, a video from his reality show resurfaced showing the kwaito star seeking advice from a lawyer regarding his concerns about what would happen to his money when he died.

Shimora also revealed that he was regretful of how everything played out on the day of his traditional marriage. He claimed he was under the influence of alcohol and did not realise that he had gotten married to Babes Wodumo under a community of property contract.

A lawyer he consulted explained to him that a community of property contract would mean that his wife would legally inherit all of his assets in the instance that he passed away. Mampintsha expressed that he was not comfortable with that idea, which was unfortunately his reality.

On 29 and 30 December 2022, the kwaito star’s funeral was assisted by the Kwazulu-Natal municipality and premier office who pledged 50 per cent towards Mampintsha’s two-day send-off. The government reportedly donated R320 000.

Earlier this week, Shimora’s sister Pinky Gumede pleaded with her brother’s fans to help her out with their mother’s medical bills. Gumede said she was already spending R150 on transport to the hospital to check on their mother and that the hospital bills were piling up.

She claimed that their mother was not eating well and confused as she constantly asked for Mampintsha’s whereabouts.

Gumede expressed that she feared asking money from Babes Wodumo or the Simelane family as she did not want to appear as though she was harassing her sister-in-law or the family.

She said that Mampintsha was the one who took care of their mother’s medical bills as she has been in and out of the hospital.
