The late AKA – ‘Failure to put respect on the Springbok name must be a criminal offense’

AKA is topping trends after his old tweet about putting some respect on the Springboks’ name resurfaced after their semi-final win.

Undoubtedly, the Springboks are topping trends in the backdrop of their sem-final win against England at the Stade de France, Paris.

The Boks edged the Red and Whites 16-15 in a close contest that has since thrust them into the top trends.

MAKING HEADLINES

The semi-final win has seen South Africa having a back-to-back Rugby World Cup final. In 2019, the Springboks won the ninth edition of the Rugby World Cup after beating England in the final in Japan.

During the ninth edition, Handre Pollard was the tournament’s top scorer.

The star has since wowed many during this year’s edition with his unmatched flair and has been influential in the Boks campaign.

He has since won Man of the Match awards because of his brilliance. After setting up a final clash with the All Blacks, an old tweet from the late rapper AKA has been topping trends.

THE LATE AKA ON PUTTING SOME RESPECT ON THE SPRINGBOKS

The late award-winning star was a Springboks fan and was not shy to show for it. He even comments about the Boks often thrust him into top trends.

In the backdrop of the Boks win, an old thread has resurfaced on X, formerly Twitter. The star warned that anyone disrespecting the Springboks name should be punished.

His now-viral X thread from 2019 reads: ‘I never want to hear another South African talk sh*t about that beautiful green and gold jersey ever again. From today onwards, failure to put respect on the Springbok name must be a criminal offence.’

The post has since gained thousands of comments and reactions since it resurfaced on social media.
