‘Reduced to just being a housewife’: Ayanda Ncwane on ‘RHOD’
Ayanda Ncwane reportedly said that ‘RHOD’ reduced her to just being a housewife while she worked hard to build a brand.

Reality star and entrepreneur Ayanda Ncwane reportedly said that her appearance on Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) “reduced” her to being “just a housewife” after she worked hard on being a music executive.
AYANDA NCWANE EXITS ‘RHOD’
Ayanda Ncwane appeared on RHOD as the wife of late South African singer Sfiso Ncwane. Her life was one of the most followed storylines of the show. This was because Nonku Williams, who is the mother of Sfiso’s child also appeared on the show. Therefore, the drama was a major talking point for Tweeps who followed the series.
The businesswoman bagged a nod for Diva Extraordinaire of the Year at the Feather Awards. While Nonku also bagged a nod for Drama Queen of the Year. This was most likely because Nonku and her mom Mimiza “The Queen” Williams, asked Ayanda to pay damages for Sfiso’s child Nothile.
It seems the drama was too much for Ayanda.The businesswoman, who was slated for tribalism on the show, revealed that she would not be returning for a second season. At the time she said she left the show because it damaged her brand and the legacy of her late husband.
AYANDA: ‘I GOT ANNOYED’
The reality star seemingly shaded RHOD. She said that she felt that she worked so hard to build a brand but she was reduced to just being a housewife.
“I have built my brand and my brand is so big and high for me to just be associated with the show,” said Ayanda to Daily Sun.
She mentioned that she saw a headline where she was only associated with the RHOD franchise and it annoyed her.
“I recently saw a headline that only associated me with the Real Housewives of Durban, and I got annoyed because I have worked so hard building a brand of being a music executive. So for me to be associated with something so small whereas I have worked so hard did not sit well with me,” she continued.
“And I decided that the show is not for me as I don’t want to be reduced to just being a housewife, while I have worked so hard for everything that I have,” she added.
