Pride Month is a month dedicated to the celebration of the LGBTQ community – and the perfect time to come out – just like actress Rebel Wilson.

The Australian-born star made the bold announcement on her Instagram account on Thursday 9 June, to the surprise of all her followers.

REBEL WILSON MEETS HER MATCH

In a move no one saw coming, Rebel Wilson not only “came out” to the public, but also shared a picture of her new lady love.

She posted on Instagram: “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess. #loveislove”.

The post was met with praise from 11 million followers, including her many celeb pals

Rebel Wilson tagged her girlfriend Ramona Agruma – who works in the fashion industry – in the post.  Rebel has previously only dated men, which include businessman Jacob Busch and actors Mickey Gooch Jr and Aden Stey, and producer Jeff Beacher.

Rebel Wilson is not the only celebrity to come out this year.

Ava Phillippe- the daughter of Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon – spoke about her sexuality in an Instagram Q&A in January. Without labelling herself, Ava posted: “I’m attracted to…people! Gender is whatever.”

According to Out magazine, Tevin Campbell came out as gay in a since-deleted tweet. The 90s crooner responded to a fan who speculated about his sexuality.  “Tevin is [gay]”, he tweeted, alongside a rainbow flag.

In a March interview with Metro, Emili Sande revealed that she was in a relationship with a woman.  She said: “We met through music. And I definitely feel happier than ever. It feels great.”

She continued: “I’m not sure what I identify as but I guess so. I just feel like I should fall in love with whoever I fall in love with.”

In April, Janelle Monae came out as “non-binary” in an episode of Red Table Talk. She said: “I just don’t see myself as a woman, solely. I feel all of my energy.

She continued: “I feel like God is so much bigger than the ‘he’ or the ‘she.’ And if I am from God, I am everything”.

Former Survivor castmate Ozzy Lusth came out as bisexual in a tweet in April.

In a tweet directed at anti-LGBTQ republicans, he posted: “For my Republican colleagues, and anyone else who matters, yeah, I’m bisexual

“Am I committing crimes?? If so come get me. Let us ALL live with dignity. Ask yourself if you support people or the f**ked dogma you’ve been fed. #ozzyisbi.”
