Real Paige reveals contract woes with Open Mic: ‘There were threats on my life’

Real Paige is the latest singer to open up on her woes with Open Mic Productions, after Makhadzi’s contract issues.

Real Paige is the latest South African musician to open up on her alleged contract woes with Open Mic Productions after Makhadzi’s nasty fallout with the record label.

According to Sunday World, the singer also had contract fights with the record label and is yet to receive money from her streams.

Paige says she is yet to receive money from her music streams from the record label. Sunday World reports that she signed a contract in 2021 with the label.

She also shared a series of tweets exposing Open Mic Productions.

CONTRACT WOES

Despite signing a three-page contract, she revealed she allegedly received a 17-page contract with forged initials.

“The copy wasn’t sent to me as promised. Throughout the year of 2021, with my team and manager, we kept on requesting a copy of the contract and Open Mic couldn’t send it until July 2022.

“To my surprise, a three-page contract I signed came back as a 17-page contract with my initials and signature on each and every page,” said Paige

After lodging complaints and requesting the original contract, she allegedly received threats which later forced her to drop the issue.

“Out of fear, we decided to keep quiet because there were threats on my life and that of my management and team,” said Paige.

However, in the wake of the allegations levelled against the record label, Open Mic Productions is yet to respond to the daring claims.

OPEN MIC PRODUCTION LEGAL BATTLES

In recent years the record label has been making all sorts of headlines for the wrong reasons.

Despite maintaining a working relationship with the record, label Master KG has reportedly left. According to TimesLive, Open Mic is also embroiled in legal battles with Nomcebo Zikode over music royalties and ownership.
