One of South Africa’s most controversial artists, Rasta The Artist, recently paid tribute to late Mzansi actor, Shona Ferguson. Ferguson was buried on Wednesday 4 August 2021 and had a memorial service on Friday 6 August. While Rasta was a little late, he shared snaps of the portrait he painted to honour the television legend.

Rasta honours Shona Ferguson

Rasta The Artist, a South African artist who has been known to ruffle feathers with his artwork finally decided to honour late actor Shona Ferguson, with a portrait. Ferguson died on Friday 30 July after reportedly battling with Covid-19 and was late to rest by his wife and fellow actor Connie Ferguson.

While many locals expected Rasta to paint the star, many people wondered if it was coming since Rasta was showing no signs of paying tribute to the actor the way he did with many other fallen South African legends. Rasta however surprised everyone when he shared a snap of the painting on Friday 6 August with this caption:

“Rest in Peace Mr.Sho#shogoeson. #Shonaferguson #shonafergusonfuneral #RIPShonaFerguson.”

Mzansi isn’t even slightly impressed

As usual, many locals headed to the comment section where they shared their thoughts on Rasta’s tribute. Needless to say, after seeing the painting many people simultaneously agreed that the artist needed to get his eyes checked.
