In honour of the late Migos group member TakeOff, rapper Quavo released a new song on 5 January named Without You which he dedicated to the deceased rapper.

Takeoff was shot and killed at the age of 28 in the early morning on 1 November 2022. The news broke that during a game of dice, the rapper got involved in an altercation in a private party inside 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston and was killed. Millions of his fans around the world mourned the death of the award-winning rapper.

Patrick Xanier Clark was named primary suspect during Takeoff’s murder investigation and later charged for killing the late rapper.

A video circulated on social media which showed a short version of the altercation leading to Takeoff getting shot. In the clip, Migos group member Quavo could also be seen running to hold the rapper in his arms and yelling for people who were in close vicinity to call for help as Takeoff slowly passed away.

In the Without You music video, Quavo could be seen seated on a chair in what appeared to be a studio and opened the song with a heartbreaking couplet:

“Tears rollin’ down my eyes_I just seen an angel fly.

“Tears rollin’ down my eyes_Can’t tell you how many times I cried_Days ain’t the same without you_ I don’t know if I’m the same without you,” Quavo rapped.

In the heart-rending track, Quavo reminisces about the days his sister’s son TakeOff was still alive. Quavo remembered how they would smoke blunts and rock out at Coachella together.

Quavo rapped that he wished he had a time machine so that they [he and TakeOff] could go back in time and ride together.

“I wish I had a time machine_So you can take a ride with me_Wrap my arms around and hold you tight phew_So you can never say good bye to me,” the rapper added.

The rapper continued to share fond memories with TakeOff before signing off in the song by telling his nephew that he loved him.

The song was released yesterday on Quavo’s Youtube channel. It has since received 260K likes and over 23K comments that sent Quavo heartfelt condolences for his loss.
