Former University of Cape Town vice chancellor Mamokgethi Phakeng recently left tongues wagging after posing with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. In the snap, the pair are smiling widely as they hold hands.
The post went close to viral as hundreds of South Africans rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts of the pair looking so chummy. Others wondered why she didn’t ask him about the electricity crisis and his plans to better the country’s economy.

Prof Phakeng stuns in snap with Ramaphosa, turns many heads
Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng knows how to get people buzzing on Twitter and has just done it again.
The former UCT VC shared a photo of herself looking quite comfortable around the country’s president and it instantly garnered thousands of likes.

Mzansi gets to talking
The post instantly blew up as hundreds of social media users flocked to the comment section to to share their thoughts on seeing Phakeng with the president.
A number of them asked her to either “klap” the president or question him about load shedding. Others shared the famous photo she once took with ex-president Jacob Zuma.
