Buckingham Palace released the guest-list for Prince Philip’s funeral that is set to take place on 17 April 2021.

Prince Philip’s funeral details released

After Prince Philip passed away on 9 April 2021, the Queen and members of the royal family had to rethink the funeral plans as coronavirus restrictions limit attendance to just 30 guests. The funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh will be held at Windsor, with no public access nor public procession beforehand, said a Buckingham Palace spokesperson.

What’s more, his funeral will be a Ceremonial Royal Funeral, the same as that of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

“Due to the current public health guidelines, some elements of the Funeral plan have been modified, although the day will still be very much in line with His Royal Highness’s wishes,” the statement from the palace said.

Coronavirus guidelines

Queen Elizabeth also won’t be able to sit with her family due to coronavirus guidelines. Of the 30 mourners who will be in attendance, all are expected to stay at least two meters apart from anyone not in their own household, Prince Philip’s private secretary, Brigadier Archie Miller-Bakewell, is expected to be in attendance and would be the only person eligible by law to sit with the queen.
