Pearl Thusi has dragged airline British Airways in a rant that has social media users divided.

The actress and TV presenter took to her Instagram Stories to lament the price of the air tickets and the lack of food provided for flyers of the high-end airline.

PEARL THUSI SLAMS BRITISH AIRWAYS

In her Instagram Story, Pearl Thusi complained about the lack of food being served on a British Airways flight, despite the hefty price tag of the ticket.

She said: “We need to discuss British Airways charging us – one way to Cape Town – R6000, which mind you I’ve done. And then they just serve you still and sparkling water”.

Pearl – who revealed she was travelling business class – compared her experience to other airlines.

She continued: “SAA is serving food, even if it’s still tricky, Airlink is also serving food and drinks. [In British Airways] For business class, all you get is water…we’re suffering…not even a Coca-Cola…rude, very rude!”.

But SA tweeps were divided on Pearl’s take on the matter. The responded to the video on Twitter:

“Must be so hard being rich. #PrayForPearl”
“Her complaint is valid”
“Now it’s level one! Nothing to understand! I sincerely hope this won’t be my experience”
“Nice life problems…the life of the privileged.”

FOOD AND DRINK ON AIRLINES

As per Alert Level One regulations, domestic airlines operating in South Africa were originally only permitted to serve bottled water and passengers won’t be allowed to eat while onboard.

However, the conditions have been relaxed and domestic airlines have since been given permission to provide pre-packaged catering, including food and drinks, to passengers.

MORE CELEBS DRAG BRITISH AIRWAYS

Pearl Thusi is not the only local star to take issue with British Airways.

Last year, Pearl’s bestie DJ Zinhle dragged the airline on Twitter after her luggage was broken into. She tweeted: “Just landed in Durban and my luggage was broken into. I hate them so much. Wow! This is so invasive man. No use reporting it cause they really don’t care.”

And in 2017, duo Black Motion accused the airline of racism and discrimination after they were moved from their business-class seats to accommodate a white passenger.

The pair were then escorted off the flight after a heated exchange to “avoid a 911 situation”, claims the airline.
