Over 400 couples tied the knot at International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) Jerusalem’s Rabokata premises near Brits.

The International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) pulled one of South Africa’s biggest mass wedding ceremonies.

Over 400 couples tied the knot at the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) Jerusalem’s Rabokata premises near Brits.

However, unconfirmed reports from Social News have it that more than 800 couples tied the knot during the Easter holidays at IPHC.

The church has hogged headlines recently with its signature mass weddings.

Last year the church had two big mass weddings; the first one saw 53 couples walking down the aisle during the church’s 60th anniversary.

However, in the backdrop of the mass wedding, 50 couples had also tied the knot in Brits ahead of the slated church anniversary.

The church is undoubtedly best known for its signature mass weddings, which happen thrice yearly.

The mass wedding has since thrust the church into top trends as Mzansi weighs in on the viral pictures that have flooded social media.

Of interest is the fact that the church is the second largest congregation in South Africa after the Zion Christian Church.

CHURCH LEADERSHIP WOES

Despite pulling one of the biggest mass weddings after Covid-19, the church is embroiled in a leadership battle which has since split to the courts.

The leadership wors came in the backdrop of the death of the church’s leader Bishop Glayton Modise who died in 2016.

His sons have often fought over the control of the church and an R400 million fortune left by the Bishop who founded the church in 1998.
