During the murder trial of Reeva Steenkamp, Oscar Pistorius was portrayed as a jealous, possessive, and trigger-happy boyfriend

And backing up that claim is Gina Myers, the best friend of murdered model who was shot and killed by the former Paralympian on Valentine’s Day, 2013.

The make-up artist and reality TV star shared her views about Pistorius in the third and final instalment of My Name Is Reeva, the gripping M-Net documentary that ended on Thursday night.

Pistorius is currently serving his 13 years and five-month sentence for the tragic incident which rocked South Africa and the world.

The 35-year-old maintains that he mistook Reeva for a burglar at his Pretoria home. However, witnesses and those close to the couple have painted a different picture of their relationship.

‘OSCAR PISTORIUS WAS AGGRESSIVE, IRRESPONSIBLE’

During the high-profile trial, the state revealed a side of Oscar Pistorius that many outsiders were unaware of. And that was his “obsessive” and “intense” personality.

Oscar met Reeva in late 2012, and one of their first appearances together was at the SA Sports Awards, where the model accompanied the athlete as his plus-one.

Speaking in the documentary, the fashion industry star reflected on several occasions where Pistorius unashamedly “stalked” Reeva during their relationship.

Gina recalls how on one occasion she and Reeva attended rapper Da LES’s All White Party at his Bryanston home, when Pistorius randomly drove by.

She said: “At the time him calling her and being obsessive wasn’t really a warning, I never experienced that kind of intensity before. So I just thought he really liked her

“He drove past the party, which was weird. He just decided to take a drive past the house. This is how the word ‘stalker’ came to pass…it was a running joke”.

Gina also recalled another occasion when Oscar “carelessly” left his gun lying around. This, whilst a group of friends were out and about.

She continued: “I know he’s aggressive and I know he’s irresponsible with his gun”. She added: “Was it that gun he used to kill her? Who leaves their gun just lying around?”.

Another friend of Reeva Steenkamp; her Ice Models booking agent friend Charleen Hoffmann shared similar views.

Hoffmann revealed how at one red-carpet event the couple attended, Pistorius blew up at Reeva following an argument. “He had a very explosive temper and that’s not what Reeva was used to”, she said.

THE TRIAL AND THE ‘TRUTH’

Gina Myers shared a moment of how a friend of Pistorius called him the day after Reeva’s murder. And the conversation was unnerving.

She said: “I asked him: ‘Do you think he [Pistorius] did it?’. And he said to me: ‘Gina, I’ve been shooting with him and he knows exactly what he does when he’s shooting. The aim is perfect”.

Of claims of whether she believes Oscar Pistorius’s account of what transpired on the night of Reeva’s death, Gina added: “I don’t think the truth came out in the trial. I don’t think that will ever happen”.

She continued: “She never once locked the bathroom door. She would only have run into a bathroom and locked herself out of fear.

“If Oscar really thought that someone was trying to break into his house, and he didn’t see Reeva there…obviously you try and find the person you love. None of it makes sense to me!”.

REEVA’S EX- BOYFRIENDS

In the documentary, Gina Myers also mentioned Reeva Steenkamp’s previous boyfriends; businessman Warren Lahoud and rugby player Francois Hougaard.

Of Reeva’s break-up with Warren, Reeva said: “I was heartbroken for him and her.

“I wished that they had stayed together and that that was the person she ended up with”.
