NO MONEY TO HONOUR OBED

The fuming actor told Daily Sun that he hesitated to do it but Mphoza begged him and said “as black brothers we must help each other and I agreed”.

“On Tuesday, 1 November he called me and said he didn’t have money to honour me. He said I’ll be awarded next year when there’s enough funding. I told him it wasn’t about the money but more about my reputation,” Obed explained.

“But he was having none of it. He insisted I won’t be awarded this year. I am angry because everybody who was nominated received the award and received the R10 000 cheque, but I was excluded,” he said.

“He approached me. But more importantly, he exploited me, he made me advertise his event for free,” Obed told the publication.

‘HE ALSO SCAMMED ME!’ – GOSPEL STAR SAYS

A Gospel star, Paul “Paul K” Kganyako, also told the publication that Mphoza failed to him what was due to him so he did not attend the Limpopo Legends Awards.

“I did not attend the awards because Mphoza failed to pay the money. He asked me to promote his event which I did. Upon his request, I wrote letters to sponsors, confirming my attendance. He even used my name and face on his poster to promote his event. But he refused to pay. As a result I served him with a letter of demand.,” he told the publication.

Mphoza confirmed with Daily Sun that he worked with Obed and Paul K, but said he had no money.

“I’ll honour Obed next year. But Paul K is just trying to settle the score. He is jealous of my project. I don’t owe him anything and I’ll meet him in court,” he said.
