Nod to Princess Diana? Camilla’s coronation designer revealed

Consort Camilla is using one of Princess Diana’s favourite designers for her coronation gown. A possible nod to her husband’s ex?

After much speculation, Queen Consort Camilla has finally revealed her chosen designer for her coronation look. And it is none other than Princess Diana’s favourite style guru, British couturier Bruce Oldfield, Hello! reports. Is this a nod to the late Princess of Wales?

QUEEN CONSORT CAMILLA USES PRINCESS DIANA’S DESIGNER FOR CORONATION LOOK

To help her look like a queen, Queen Consort Camilla has reportedly chosen Princess Diana’s dress designer, British couturier Bruce Oldfield, to create her look for the coronation, Hello! Reports. Speculation is now running rampant that it might be a nod to Princess Diana.

Over the years, the British designer has become a close acquaintance with the Queen Consort.

He also designed her gown for the “No Time To Die” movie premiere held in 2021 in London.

The late Princess Diana was known to favour the well-known designer’s designs and appeared in many of his couture dresses in appearances around the world while married to the then-Prince Charles.

According to the publication Princess Diana and Oldfield first met in 1981 as part of a project with Vogue.

In an interview with Fashion Unfiltered, Oldfield said:

“She [Princess Diana] was young. She was eleven years younger than me, only 24 at the time. We didn’t have much in common, but we had a good relationship. We had lunches and went to some parties together. But then it ran out in the end in the eighties when she stepped down from being royal.”

Apart from royal clientele, Oldfield’s client list also boasts celebrity names, including Helen Mirren, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, and Charlotte Rampling.
