Daniel Craig to ‘get rid of money’: Claims he will not leave an inheritance

Just like Steve Jobs, Daniel Craig is not leaving his children an inheritance upon his death as he will ‘get rid’ of the money before then.

English actor Daniel Craig revealed he will not be leaving his daughters an inheritance as he believes it is “distasteful” and would rather “get rid of the money,” in an interview with Candis Magazine.

DITCHING THE ‘DOUGH’

Upon the Skyfall star’s death, none of his children can bank on an inheritance from their father, Daniel Craig as he expresses that inheritance is “distasteful” and he would rather get rid of his money before he dies.

“I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go,” said Craig to Candis Magazine.

“Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?” he continued.

His philosophy is inspired by industrialist Andrew Carnegie, who gave away billions of dollars before his death in 1919.

“ (That) shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it too,” said Craig.

This is the same philosophy shared by Steve Jobs and his wife Laurene Powell Jobs, who said that the inheritance left by the Apple CEO will end with her as none of his children will receive any proceeds.

“I’m not interested in legacy wealth buildings, and my children know that. Steve wasn’t interested in that. If I live long enough, it ends with me,” said Laurene Powell-Jobs to New York Times.

In 2018, he welcomed a baby girl with British actress Rachel Weisz, who he married in 2011. Weisz has a 15-year-old son named Henry with director Darren Aronofsky.

Daniel Craig has made it clear that none of his kids, nor Weisz’s will be touching his wealth upon his death. The actor is set to make his final appearance as the M16 agent in No Time to Die which is expected to hit cinemas in October, this year.
