The “Super Bass” rapper set out to start a record label and management company, and as AfroTech previously informed us, Nicki Minaj already had artists on her radar whom she was trying to sign.

The rapper announced it during the most recent episode of her Queen Radio programme for Amazon Music’s AMP platform.

On Friday’s Queen Radio show, Nicki Minaj revealed that she was messaging Wendy Goldstein, co-president of Republic Records, who encouraged her to announce the label during the broadcast.

Minaj also discussed Lil Wayne’s early influence on her career, how he helped her gain notoriety, and her desire to have a similar impact on the emerging artists on her label.

Nicki Minaj’s plans have now officially been set into action, according to Billboard.

At this point, it is unknown what the new record label’s name will be. It will, however, reportedly be a Republic Records subsidiary, according to The Fader.

The rapper’s acquaintance and writer Patty Lauren has been appointed the label’s A&R (artists and repertoire).

Additionally, the label’s initial signees have been revealed. Tate Kobang, London Hill, Nana Fofie, and Rico Danna will also be added to the roster.

Expect a variety of music from the label, not simply rap. Different genres of musicians will have opportunities. She wants to provide additional artists with the same amount of assistance so they may stay in the business for a very long period.

She said, “Don’t think my label is just rap, or Black, or anything. We got some other genres of music.”

Nicki Minaj is not happy
