Naomi Campbell, the British supermodel and actress, announced that she has become a mother via her social media channels on Tuesday, 18 May 2021. Campbell posted a heartfelt image of herself cradling the foot of her newborn daughter to Twitter and Instagram.

CAMPBELL: ‘A BEAUTIFUL BLESSING HAS CHOSEN ME’

To say the announcement was a surprise would be an understatement – despite her worldwide fame, the 50-year-old supermodel leads a closeted life. Prior to the announcement, most people were none the wiser.

“A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother,” said Campbell. “So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel.”

“There is no greater love.”

Fellow celebrities rushed to the comment section to offer their congratulations. Marc Jacobs, the fashion designer, said: “Oh my God!!!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible,” which suggests that he was one of the few people in on Campbell’s secret.

“How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful mother you will be. Blessings all around,” added Jacobs.

The supermodel had previously expressed her desire to become a mother. In 2017, she told Evening Standard magazine that she thinks about having children all the time but was in no rush to do it. “…with the way science is I think I can do it when I want,” she said.

In 2018, fans thought Campbell was expecting Skepta’s baby after the Grime musician posted a picture of a sonogram. Campbell quickly dashed those rumours by posting a bikini picture that showed off her flat stomach.

It was later revealed that the couple were no longer seeing each other and that they split in April 2018, just a month after they graced the cover of GQ together.
