‘Eight years, not a bad’: Mo Flava parts ways with Metro FM

A statement released by Metro FM has confirmed that Mo Flava had officially left the ‘Wake Up’ breakfast show.

On 3 March, Metro FM breakfast show host Mo Flava, real name Moeti Tsiki took to Instagram and announced he was leaving the radio station after serving the commercial radio station for eight years.

Although the breakfast show host did not disclose the reason for leaving the show, Mo Flava reportedly said he was looking forward to exploring other opportunities.

He shared a picture from the station and captioned it,

“8 years. Not a bad knock. I’ve lived shem 😌😂.”

In a statement released by the station, Mo Flava was quoted saying,

“I am looking forward to exploring new opportunities I  have lined up in radio where I will continue to express my talent. I am also excited about TV opportunities on the horizon. I’ll also continue to help young people who want to get into radio broadcasting through radio demo workshops.”

Mo Flava reportedly added that he appreciated the opportunity that he was given and said he had touched many lives through his segment, and shared that his Metro FM listeners held a special place in his heart.

METRO FM’s Business Manager, Ms Kina Nhlengethwa, reportedly said,

“As a station, we consider ourselves fortunate to have experienced Mo Flava’s brilliance as a seasoned broadcaster.  He has been consistent throughout the years in contributing meaningfully to the METRO FM brand. We wish Mo well in his future endeavours”.

WHY IS THE BREAKFAST SHOW HOST LEAVING THE SHOW?

According to Zalebs, Khutso Theledi will continue to hold the fort down as the host of the breakfast show until a permanent replacement is confirmed.

Mo Flava was reportedly considered to be arrogant by many because of how confident and good he was in his job.

“I doubt the show isn’t doing well; the decision is more personal than professional,” one source was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, another source reportedly said,

“He did not see it coming. He is the subject of gossip at SABC as this is a big demotion.”
