Cardi B may be a proud US citizen, but the rapper was not celebrating the win of the new Miss Universe R’Bonney, who hails from Houston, Texas.

Instead, the hitmaker was rooting for runner-up; Miss Dominican Republic Andreina Martinez, to take the crown.

In a glittering ceremony in New Orleans, R’Bonney has crowned the 71st Miss Universe winner. Miss Venezuela Amanda Dudamel was crowned the runner-up, and Miss Dominican Republic second runner-up.

Taking to her Twitter account, Cardi B tweeted her commentary on the Miss Universe pageant, particularly of the Top 3: USA, Venezuela, and Dominican Republic.

While Cardi B was born in Manhattan, New York, her parents are immigrants: her father is from the Dominican Republic, and her mother is from Trinidad.

She posted: “Miss Dominican Republic ….GOD PLEASE”. But moments later, Cardi’s hopes were crushed when USA was crowned the winner.
