‘I’m Blessed’: Miss SA finalist Anarzade on ‘judge’ Prof Thuli Madonsela

Miss SA Top 10 finalist Anarzade Omar said she was first intimated but feels blessed that Prof Thuli Madonsela is a judge for the pageant.

Miss SA Top 10 finalist Anarzade Omar weighed in on former public protector Prof Thuli Madonsela joining the judging panel for the pageant – the finale will be held on Saturday 13 August.

MISS SA 2022 JUDGING PANEL

The Miss South African organisation announced the judges for the Miss SA finale which include former public protector Professor Thuli Madonsela. So, who are the other judges?

  • Reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu of India 
  • Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi (2019) 
  • Miss World Rolene Strauss 2014 
  • Award-winning investigative journalist Devi Sankaree Govender
  • Businesswoman and Miss South Africa 1990 Suzette van der Merwe
  • Media personality Thando Thabethe

The Miss South Africa 2022 finale will be taking place on Saturday 13 August at SunBet Arena, Time Square, Pretoria. Media personality Anele Mdoda will be hosting the pageant on her own this year. 

Reigning Miss SA Lalela Mswane, who was crowned Miss Supranational last month, will be crowning her successor the new Miss SA.

ANARZADE WEIGHS IN ON PROF THULI MADONSELA AS A JUDGE 

Prof Madonsela topped the Twitter trends list after the Miss South Africa Organisation announced the judges. Miss South Africa Top 10 finalist Anarzade Omar weighed in on how she felt about Prof Madonsela being a judge.

She said that she was first intimidated but later felt like it was a blessing.

“My first thought was that I feel intimidated. she is such an intelligent and strong woman,” said Anarzade exclusively to The South African.

“But after reflecting I know realise how blessed I am to be in her presence and that she won’t be trying to catch us out but get to know us and why we’re here, and there is nothing intimidating about that,” she continued.
