‘Men aren’t possessions’: Mihlali on meeting and ‘stealing’ Leeroy

South African influencer and content creator Mihlali Ndamase is one of the country’s most successful and talked bout celebrities. Her relationship with businessman Leeroy Sidambe is a scorching topic for many people who were shocked to learn about their romance because of his marriage to Mary Jane Sidambe.

And now Mihlali has taken to social media to open up about how she met the flamboyant businessman and what she thinks about the rumours that she “stole” him from MJ.

Mihlali gushes over how she met Leeroy Sidambe

Mihlali Ndamase is one local celebrity who loves to keep her private life under wraps. The 26-year-old influencer has never been open about who she is dating and refuses to share any photo or video content.

The MUA however had no choice but to come clean about her romance with Leeroy Sidambe after gossip blogger Musa Khawula spilled the beans on his now-suspended Twitter page.

Now that it is all out in the open Mihlali has opened up about meeting Leeroy for the first time during a video call and then going on a romantic Cape Town date by the beach.

“I was charmed from the beginning, from the moment I spoke to this man. We were on the phone for six weeks until he couldn’t wait any longer,” she said.

“I caught feelings. Love him like it’s day one, from the moment we met we both just knew. Our first kiss was on the first day we met. He claims he did not know who I am.”

Can’t steal a man?

Mihlali revealed in an interview with Nounouche that she isn’t bothered when people say she stole Leeroy from Mary Jane.

According to the beauty influencer, man are not possessions that can be stolen — they have minds of their own.

“Another important thing is that men are not possessions, you don’t just take and run with it. People are responsible for themselves. We make it seem like these men cannot think for themselves and in that regard we never hold them to the same standards we hold women,” she said.
