Lerato Matsoso is the mother of musician Bongani Mohosana — popularly known as Murdah Bongz and Mörda’s — first child. Here’s what we know about her.

The former Black Motion member recently “married” DJ and businesswoman Ntombezinhle Jiyane, popularly known as DJ Zinhle after he paid lobola for her in 2022. The couple has a one-year-old daughter named Asante Mohosana together. Mörda has also welcomed DJ Zinhle’s first child Kairo Forbes from her previous relationship with rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes.

The adorable family is usually seen on social media all loved up and united as a family.

When controversial entertainment blogger Musa Khawula revealed that Murdah already had a child with Lerato Matsoso netizens slammed Mörda for being a “deadbeat dad”, The South African previously reported.

The musician cleared the accusations and said that it was Lerato’s decision to keep their child out of the public eye.

Lerato was raised in Soweto, Johannesburg. The beautiful woman was born in October and stays true to her scorpion sign. She is an intelligent go-getter and full of many talents.

Judging by her social media presence, Lerato is an outdoorsy kind of girl who occasionally hikes and attends events hosted in the media and entertainment industry.

According to Business And Arts South Africa, Lerato started her impressive career as a journalist and landed a career working for the Composers, Authors, and Publishers Association (CAPASSO), where she works as a Stakeholder Relations Manager and media expert.

She is also a former entertainment and lifestyle editor at Daily Sun and Sunday Sun newspapers.

She has worked in the entertainment industry as an expert commentator on UKhozi FM, YFM, SABC 1’s Real Goboza, and the Sunrise breakfast show that aired on eTV and reportedly presented entertainment news.

4. WHAT ARE HER ACHIEVEMENTS?

Lerato is a highly accomplished woman. She has reportedly served as a judge for local and international music, television and arts awards. One of the gigs she bagged was presenting the South African Music Awards.

In 2014, she was named among one of Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans. The humble lady uplifts her community by distributing toiletries to high schools annually in her ongoing The Love Care Pack initiative. She once appeared on SABC 1’s Morning Live show where she was interviewed about “the progress of women in the music industry.”
