Popular DJ Mark Pilgrim has taken to social media to give followers a latest update in his ongoing battle against cancer.

The Hot102.7fm radio DJ took to social media on Thursday to share with his Twitter and Instagram followers that he was getting another drip at home – and being kept company by his adorable Yorkie.

The 53-year-old, who previously worked at 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm and Hot91, added that he was ‘still out of breath doing the smallest things’ but was ‘walking a little further each day without his cane for support’.

Pilgrim wrote: “Getting a 4 hour drip at home is a lot easier when a little fur ball is keeping me company 😀✨
“Still out of breath doing the smallest things, especially with the drainage tube still in my chest, but walking a little further each day without my cane for support.”

Meanwhile, as reported by The South African website, Pilgrim proposed to his partner Adrienne Watkins on New Year’s Eve, shortly after he was discharged from hospital, having spent 64 days – during which time he lost almost 15kg – in ICU.
Pilgrim has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which he revealed in June 2022 had spread to his femur, the base of his spine and lymph nodes.
