Mark Pilgrim wakes up to find wife holding his hand in emotional post – PICTURE

Popular DJ Mark Pilgrim spent Christmas in hospital this year as he continues his brave battle against cancer.

The Hot102.7fm radio DJ took to social media late on Tuesday to share a tear-jerking post.

The 53-year-old, who previously worked at 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm and Hot919, posted that he’d woken up from an anesthetic to find his partner, Adrienne, holding his hand.

At the time of publishing it’s unclear what procedure Pilgrim underwent.

Pilgrim was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which he revealed in June had spread to his femur, the base of his spine and lymph nodes.

Pilgrim wrote: “When you wake up from the anesthetic and realise your partner is there holding your hand.
