Popular DJ Mark Pilgrim has taken to social media to give followers the latest update in his ongoing battle against cancer.

Popular DJ Mark Pilgrim has taken to social media to give followers a latest update in his ongoing battle against cancer.

The Hot102.7fm radio DJ took to social media on Tuesday to share with his Twitter and Instagram followers that he was “really skinny at the moment” and was having “more fluid drained from his abdomen”.

The 53-year-old, who previously worked at 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm and Hot91, added that he was ‘not easy’ but still had an end goal in sight which was ‘walking on the beach with fiancée Adrienne, his daughters and and a golden retriever’.

Pilgrim wrote: “Really skinny at the moment. Having more fluid drained from abdomen so my tummy has a bit of space for food. It’s a journey. It’s not easy. Baby steps. Still have the end goal in sight where myself, Adrienne and the girls are walking on the beach with our future golden retriever 😀🙏🏻✨”
Mark Pilgrim engaged
Meanwhile, as reported by The South African website, Pilgrim proposed to his partner Adrienne Watkins on New Year’s Eve last year, shortly after he was discharged from hospital, having spent 64 days – during which time he lost almost 15kg – in ICU.
Pilgrim has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which he revealed in June 2022 had spread to his femur, the base of his spine and lymph nodes.
