‘Fight!’: SA prays for Mark Pilgrim after Jeremy Mansfield’s death

‘Keep your head down and keep fighting’: One tweep told Mark Pilgrim in the wake of Jeremy Mansfield’s death from terminal cancer.

Whilst South Africa is mourning the loss of radio veteran Jeremy Mansfield, they’re rooting for the recovery of another – Mark Pilgrim.

Like Mansfield, who lost his battle to terminal cancer on Monday, Mark is also fighting the disease – stage four lung cancer.

But fans are encouraging the Hot 102.7 FM presenter to remain strong in the face of adversity and ill health.

MARK PILGRIM SHARES HEALTH UPDATE FROM HOSPITAL BED

Following the death of Jeremy Mansfield, Mark Pilgrim shared a glowing tribute about his radio colleague.

And although they never crossed paths – or frequencies – Mark had nothing but kind words to share.

He tweeted: “The radio industry is a family. Today we say goodbye to one of our own. Always remembered. Goodbye, big guy. RIP Jeremy”

Mark also shared an update on his own cancer battle. After having surgery to re-inflate and drain fluid from his collapsed lung, the personality is currently recuperating in Milpark hospital.

He shared: “It’s another week or so in the hospital, connected to drips and tubes preparing for the next procedure which will keep the lung inflated for good. I’m already breathing so much better”.

Meanwhile, fans of Mark Pilgrim are encouraging him to keep up the good fight, despite the death of Jeremy Mansfield
