Popular DJ Mark Pilgrim has taken to social media to give followers a latest update in his ongoing battle against cancer.

The Hot102.7fm radio DJ took to social media on Friday to share with his Twitter and Instagram followers that he was back in hospital having fluid drained from his abdomen.

The 53-year-old, who previously worked at 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm and Hot91, added that he was taking things ‘one day at a time’.

Pilgrim wrote: “Back at hospital having a few liters of fluid drained from my abdomen. One day at a time. Step by step the healing happens. 👊🏻🙏🏻✨”

Meanwhile, as reported by The South African website, Pilgrim proposed to his partner Adrienne Watkins on New Year’s Eve, shortly after he was discharged from hospital, having spent 64 days – during which time he lost almost 15kg – in ICU.
Pilgrim has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which he revealed in June 2022 had spread to his femur, the base of his spine and lymph nodes.
